Our trained facilitators

will lead discussions in both small group as well as individual settings. The exercises in the program are designed to aid participants in practical ways in engaging their family members.

Our volunteers,

most of whom have themselves been through the program and experienced its benefit, willingly extend their time and energy to plan, organise and manage events and activities in the hope of helping other families facing difficult and challenging relationships.

Our alumni of members,

known as LYFers, continue to connect in helping each other along their journey towards improving family relations.

Founding members and Executive Commitee

We come from varied backgrounds and share the common view that strong families are the foundation of a strong society.

Andrew and Carolina

Former Lawyer and Homemaker

Andrew is a fifth generation Singaporean who enjoyed his childhood immensely — growing up in the early years of Singapore's independence.

An alumnus of Anglo-Chinese School, St. Andrew's School and National Junior College, he completed his national service and went to study law at the London School of Economics. He spent 34 years in private practice, first at Drew & Napier and then at Rajah & Tann, Singapore where he retired as Deputy CEO of Rajah & Tann Asia.

In retirement, Andrew keeps himself busy as executive Vice-chair of the Phongsavanh Foundation in Laos. He also serves on the boards of various charities, NGOs and corporations, and plays an occasional game of golf and enjoys taking walks and going for swims.

He is husband to loving wife, Carolina, and father to three wonderful sons who are between the ages of 31 and 26 years old.

Carolina moved to Singapore from the U.S. and has lived here for the past 34 years. She had first come to Singapore whilst on a student program when she met Andrew. She became a full-time stay-at-home mom after their second son was born and she says it is the most fulfilling decision she has ever made. They are grandparents to a grandson. They are also "humans" to their two dogs.

Andrew and Carolina believe passionately in the amazing potential of family to bring out the best in each person. The importance of keeping family relationships healthy and the need to work at imparting sound values to the next generation is something they hold very close to their hearts.
