The VASES Program employs a methodical process focused on developing healthy relational behaviour, anchored by one-on-one relationships among family members. We believe that strong family bonds are built over time through enjoying time with each other.

Our program is designed to help any individual who desires to make a difference for their family, to take personal responsibility and be a catalyst to bring about positive change to their family’s relations. This may include improving communication patterns, cultivating constructive behavioural interactions and deepening the sense of belonging.

The facilitated program aims to deliver a bespoke approach in helping restore deteriorating or damaged relationships, inject deeper connections and sow seeds of love within their families.

How Long is the Vases Program ?

  • The entire program is made up of 12 exercises which may take anywhere between 20 to 26 weeks.

  • A shorter brief program which consists of the first 4 exercises would be helpful in strengthening  family relationships would take about 10 weeks.

  • The length of the program would depend on the existing family dynamics. Some families may take longer whereas some may take a much shorter time.

Why so long? Can it be incorporated into a family retreat?

  • The initial exercises can be incorporated into a family retreat. These would be for each family member to learn to Value, Appreciate and discover the desire to Spend Time Together.

  • As the exercises are not designed to be purely cognitive exercises but should touch how one feels about other family members, the efficacy of these exercises may take a longer time to be effective.

What is the basis for the exercises?

  • The exercises are based on Behavioural Science. It is anchored in the well researched body of knowledge of Cognitive-Behavioural Psychology.

  • The premise of both Value and Appreciate draws from evidence from Positive Psychology. Gratitude allows an individual to both value and appreciate people in their lives as well as be kinder toward oneself and others.

  • The ability to value and appreciate another person is the basis for better relationships.

In what way can the exercises be effective in building better relationships?

  • Encouragement from a community that shares a similar goal can help the individual to persevere despite rebuffs or discouragements from their family members.

  • Reflection is the beginning to action. The exercises start with reflection and results in action.

  • The LYF group is the backbone for the individual to creatively consider what actions to take to effect change.
